Children at risk in all European countries lack social activities and spend their lives in their daily routines. These children were led to a sedentary life due to socio-economic reasons, geographical location and low awareness of the necessity of doing sports. The negative psychological state of children at risk is inactive for 12 months all year outside of their routine work. This contradicts EU policies that work for human health and an active society. In particular, these children do not participate in sports activities regularly and pass their time sluggishly.
Young people and children spend their time outside of education in front of the computer due to insufficient sports facilities in the section with low socioeconomic level.. Communication relationships are declining; As a result, they spend their time sitting quietly and watching TV. In this framework of life, children do nothing for their own health. They live a life away from sports because they do not have sufficient facilities and economic power. In addition, parents and children who do not do any activity also have problems communicating with each other over time. The EU’s rural development policy is designed to help rural areas overcome a wide range of economic, environmental and social challenges and shares a number of objectives with other European structural and investment funds. EU Member States and regions prepare coordinated rural development programs (RDPs) that follow a common set of priorities, including ‘promoting social inclusion’. According to EU 2020 strategy targets, at least 20 million fewer people are targeted at or at risk of poverty/social exclusion.
For this reason, the aim of our project is to involve children at risk, all individuals who do not have any social and sports activities in their lives, and to provide them with a sports activity that they can do in their daily lives. For this purpose, we aimed to help these people lead a more active life and exercise by using the Olympics as a tool. Of course, the Olympics are held in more than thirty different branches. We focused on realizing our goals on Athletics, which is the foundation of all branches. Athletics is important for children of this age group to form the basis of other sports skills. Athletics has a far broader meaning as a sport, and also as a means of physical education and lifestyle of every civilized man. Each of the disciplines of athletics affects, not only the development of individual abilities, but also the overall psychophysical status of man and that is why athletics is often called the “queen of sports”. The “Queen of Sports” has its own characteristics, as follows: athletic movements, such as walking, running, jumping and throwing, are a natural movement, phylogenetically and ontogenetically the oldest movement used by man to ensure his survival and accelerate his development. Walking, running, jumping and throwing, as natural movements, have a high level of utilitarianism and as such in general, represent the basis for any motor activity of man in satisfying his various needs.Athletic activities have the characteristic of accessibility because they can be practiced everywhere, in free spaces, roads, forests, open and closed fields, in specially arranged stadiums, and with special devices, but also on the simplest ad hoc prepared and made devices and fields.
The project also pursues the goals of the Olympic Charter; In fact, it highlights this. Sport is a right for everyone. The aim is to bring people together through sportive activities. Grouping is a tool to avoid childhood disadvantage and promote a better quality of life. For these reasons, the project brings together sports clubs, associations and municipalities to support the growth and development of children, not only for those who participate in activities, but also for the prevention and promotion of diseases by sports associations. We want to make appropriate quality plans based on volunteer work both in health and sport.
